DAY 1 : Arrival – Nairobi 

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by KSAE  representative who will assist through customs and then transfer to your Hotel in Nairobi.
Overnight: City Hotel

DAY 2: Amboseli National Park      

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Wilson airport for your departure flight to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for check-in at your Lodge/ Camp.
The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rises above a saucer of clouds and dominates every aspect of Amboseli. This park covers only 150 square miles but despite its small size and its fragile ecosystem it supports a wide range of mammals (well over 50 of the larger species) and birds (over 400 species). You will have a morning game drive, later arrive for lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game viewing drive with the Lodges 4 x 4 Land cruisers.  Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Amboseli National Park 

elephant_amboThis morning enjoy a game drives in the Park. Amboseli is best known for views of spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at some 19,341 feet. The park affords you the best opportunity to get close to the mighty elephant. You might also spot Cape buffalo, zebra, wild dog, and others. During the heat of the day, relax at your lodge. You will have a game viewing drive in the afternoon. All meals and overnight at the lodge/Camp

DAY 4: Amboseli – Maasai Mara National Reserve     

After an early breakfast, leave behind Amboseli Park and you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your flight to Nairobi, where you will connect a flight to the famous Maasai Mara Game reserve. Arrive to the Mara and transferred to the Lodge/ Camp for your lunch there after a game viewing drive.  Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve and the setting for much of the film Out of Africa.  It is classic savannah grasslands, where animals are plentiful and the vistas spectacular. Here Maasai tend their cattle in concert with free roaming wildlife – all sharing the same land with minimal conflicts. You will have two days of wildlife-viewing opportunities in the Maasai Mara Reserve, also known as the “Jewel of Africa,” inhabited by many of Africa’s most popular wild animals, including lion, cheetah, elephant, leopard, black rhino and hippo. There are over 500 resident species of birds in the park including ostrich, larks and sunbirds as well as the lovely Lilac-breasted Roller.

The area is famous for rolling grassland and for the Mara River, which runs through the reserve from north to south. The reserve covers an area of 700 square miles and forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem, hosting the world famous spectacle of the annual migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of zebra and an escort of carnivores as they follow the rains and succulent new grass. A costly trek as many of the lame, laggard and sick will fall prey to ravenous packs of predators and many more will die crossing the swirling flood waters of the Mara River.

DAY 5:  Maasai Mara Game Reserve

On this day you will spend in the Mara having morning and afternoon game viewing drives, following up on the migration routes searching for the wildebeest migration. All meals will be served at the Camp.

DAY 6: Maasai Mara – Nairobi – Kigali      

After breakfast at the Camp, bid farewell to the Maasai Mara as you will be transferred to the airstrip for your departure flight to Nairobi, where upon arrival you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight to Kigali Rwanda. Upon arrival in Rwanda, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your Hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 7: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park     

Enjoy your breakfast at the Hotel, and thereafter, you will begin your city tour of Kigali. Your tour will take you to Visit the Kandt museum, see old Kigali and the craft centres then visit the genocide memorial site. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide; learn about other genocides in the world and how this country has dealt with that past. Tour more and see the new developments in Rwanda; the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience.
Later transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Arrive in time for Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 8: Volcanoes National Park     

gorillas_rwandaSpend the better part of the day Weaving through overhanging vines, moss-covered hagenia trees and giant lobelias that thrive in the tropical climate, going closer and closer to Gorilla families. Our experienced trackers, who have spent their entire lives in or close to this forest, soon bring us up close with these Families.

Upon sighting the gorillas, you will stay with them for a magical hour as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting; raising their young. Coming face to face with a giant silverback must truly be one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth!
After the trek, rejoin your driver Guide for a transfer to your lodge/hotel for lunch.

DAY 9: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali  – Depart     

After breakfast, you will depart to Kigali airport to catch your departure flight back home.
